DiEM25 has more than 100,000 members. Most of them are nice people who really believe in DiEM25's values and ideas, but not everyone is. We cannot screen every member as they come in and it's usually only later that they draw attention through offensive behaviour.
If you see a spammer or someone who is claiming a fake identity, just write to tech@diem25.org - such cases can be removed very quickly.
If you see a forum post which is below-the-belt, aggressive, insulting, racist, homophobic or the like, or which makes allegations against another member, please use the report button (the little flag icon underneath the post) in order to let our forum moderators know. If enough forum members click the report button, the post will be hidden until a moderator can get to it, but usually our moderators are faster. They will try to help the member find better ways of expression. Posts that have no value beyond the aggression will be removed entirely. Forum members who repeatedly violate the forum rules will find themselves banned - temporarily or permanently.
If you see a DiEMer who is violating our Code of Conduct (CoC) outside the forum, for example by
... please go to Accountability > File a complaint or this direct link in order to file a formal CoC complaint. Please note that you MUST NOT post on the forum (or other places DiEMers gather) about this member, because that could be considered slander. Code of Conduct cases are ultimately resolved by the Validating Council, a set of 100 members chosen at random who act as a jury. It is much fairer to submit claims, evidence and counter-evidence to them rather than to have a public mud fight.
For lesser offenses and fights between two members, we have a team of skilled mediators, who can also be brought in before a formal complaint, if both sides wish it. Find more info here: DiEM25 Mediation System
