Do you want to organise an event for your group, for DiEMers in general, or for the public?
You can create a new event using the events form, you need to be logged in as a member.
If the "Who may attend" field is set to "group members" details of the event will only be visible to members of the selected group. If it is set to "DiEM25 members", the event details can be seen by anyone in DiEM25, and if the field is set to "public", the event will be listed in DiEM25's public calendar on diem25.org.
There is a practical guide that is much better than this page, check it out: https://diem25.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/How-to-promote-your-DiEM25-event.pdf
The new DSC pages also have a section listing upcoming meetings and events organised by the DSC. We recommend adding your regular meetings there, so that people who look at your DSC page see that you are active - this makes them more likely to join.
Make sure you remember to set the "Event organised by group" field to your DSC. You don't have to worry about private information: if you set the audience of the meeting to "group members only", non-group members will not be able to see the details of the event (only the title; they cannot click through). The event title will be visible on your DSC page so that people know your group is active and has regular meetings, but non-group members will be told to join the group if they want to see the event details.
For Convenience, the New Event form now also sends out emails notifying all DSC members about the scheduled meeting.
There's an option to set up recurring meetings at the bottom of the event form.
Public and DiEM member events use the same form, simply set the "Who may attend" field to "public", or "DiEM25 members" respectively. In all other respects the process is the same, except that notifications will still only be sent to group members. Public events will be listed in DiEM25's public calendar.
At the bottom of the 'Basics' section of the events form is a checkbox labelled 'Sign-ups'. Check this box to collect RSVPs from members who would like to attend.
