Dear all, here is a list that can give you an orientation on how to successfully establish DiEM25 in your country in coordination with the European team:
| 1. Build up phase for DiEM25 in a country | |
| Contact the European team to get to know each other and receive support with tools and more | |
| Create and build up Local Collectives (Activist Guidelines) | |
| At least once every 3 months, set up a call with the European team to give an update about the political situation in your country, local issues we could connect to, and member statistics. Do so by reaching out to volunteer@diem25.org | |
| Submit articles to the comms team regularly on your country’s political situation and local issues, for publishing on the DiEM25 website.(example) | |
| Contact DiEM25’s Communications team to set up Social Media Accounts for the country ("DiEM25 in country X") | |
| Translate the DiEM25 website, when the local language is not there yet (the website already exists in over 10 languages) | |
| Get in touch with our Campaigns Coordinator to organise your own local campaign or join one of DiEM25's pan-European actions. Don't forget to set up a national fundraising page for them! (example) | |
| 2. Establishing DiEM25 in a country | |
| Set up more Local Collectives, organise actions with them, expand the membership of DiEM25 in your country and create a People’s Gatherings questionnaire for your country, if one doesn’t already exist | |
| Once you feel comfortable with the above basics, contact the European team to agree next steps (creating a strategy for the country, a national coordination team, a possibility of establishing a political party etc.) | |
| Use the People's Gatherings questionnaire as a template for developing a political programme together with members, using a team of volunteers interested in policy formation to draft it | |
| 3. Establishing MERA25 in a country | |
| If you see that the foundation of MERA25 makes sense in the current political situation of your country, propose it to the European team | |
| Develop party statutes and a political program for MERA25 in coordination with the European team and put them to an All Member Vote together with the programme | |
| Launch MERA25 and create a MERA25 website in coordination with the European team, follow our Not Just Another Political Party - Model, Principles and Pathway |
